EPIK Program
Since 1995 the government of South Korea has actively invited suitably adventurous university graduates and qualified teachers from seven select countries to come to teach conversational English in their public schools.
This has been driven by the fact that South Korea is one of the top 10 trading nations on earth and most of that international business is conducted in English. To achieve a steady stream of English competent school graduates the program is designed to expose each Korean school student to the English language.
Today Korea is considered a destination of choice for EFL teachers. Good salaries, affordable cost of living, medical insurance, rent free private apartment, travel allowances, generous vacations and low tax rates provides a high level of disposable income with an enjoyable lifestyle.
EPIK first appointed GoldKey Education as an official agency in 2008 to select and assist suitable candidates to secure contracts in the program. Since 2008 GoldKey has successfully placed over 3,000 graduates into the EPIK Program.
In 2024 we partnered with Bay Language Institute to streamline the recruitment process for the EPIK Program.
Biannual Intakes
The EPIK Program has biannual teacher intakes in Spring (Feb) and Fall (August) each year.
Applications for these intakes open 6 months prior to the intake. So applications for the Spring Intake open on 1 August the previous year and the Fall Intake opens on 1 February earlier in the same year.
The EPIK program receives applications online from these dates onward in a continual process of vetting applications, scheduling Zoom Interviews, then inviting successful interviewees to submit their physical document parcel by courier. Typically after 4 months they have sufficient applications to fill the intake quota and the intake is closed.
Prompt, accurate applications are essential to secure a contract offer.
